Wayne Long is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. The son of a successful merchant, Wayne grew up understanding the value of good service, hard work and fiscal responsibility. After graduating from UNC, he worked in the family business and then in finance at the Federal Land Bank. His education and work experience served as the foundation for his success in business. Under Wayne’s leadership, WellCare continues to grow in census and in services.
Wayne has a passion for helping others and is committed to community service. He participates on the boards of local organizations, is an active member of the Myrtle Grove Optimist Club, sponsors and supports area youth sports, and has made scholarship contributions to state colleges and universities. In addition, Wayne is an ardent supporter of the home care benefit and the advantages it provides to the community’s most frail individuals. He promotes the home care cause through financial donations to state and national home care associations, and by visiting with lawmakers to keep them informed of the valuable services the industry provides society.
